The Club
Joensuu Polar Bears (Joensuun Jääkarhut) is one of Finland's biggest winter swimming clubs with about 1000 members. The club is open and sauna is heated up every day of the year. If you want to enjoy the benefits of the centre year round please consider becoming a member.
Joining the club
The membership fee is paid for a calendar year basis. If you want to join in the middle of the year, a reduced fee will be charged (see details below).
To join, please fill out a membership form. You can do it at the club,
print the form from here,
or use the
web form
(in Finnish only).
The invoice will be emailed/mailed to you as soon as possible.
After paying the invoice, take the receipt with you and ask for the
annual badge from the janitor. Stitch the badge into
your swimming suit and you can enjoy the benefits of the centre as
often you like the year round.
At the club you can also pay by cash to the janitor. Then you can start
swimming right away.
NEW MEMBERS

2. Membership fee in 2012
For the first year the annual subscription is determined by the month of
joining
as follows:
- From January to April the fee is 90 €
- Starting from May, the fee is lowered by 10 € each month. See the graph below.
OLD MEMBERS
In 2012 the membership fee for old members is 90 €.
